I rocked Walmart and Target today...

Target:

13 Glade candle tins. SEVENTEEN CENTS EACH. They are not sealed so you can open them in the store, and in some of them, there are $1.50 coupons. They are on sale at Target for $1.67 (not marked at mine, but they scan at that price), so I opened every single one they had on the shelf and bought all of them that had coupons in them (using the coupons, of course), haha. They didn't have many on the shelf, I only left probably six... hopefully they restock soon!! :o) ...but seriously, $2.21 for 13 of those candles!! They are normally priced at $2.99 each!! Aweeeesome deal.

I also had 2 buy any glade candle tin, get a free refill pack... so those two refill packs were FREE.

All kinds of behind on posting my DEALS. :o) I keep thinking about starting a new blog just for that so it's not all mixed in here. Perhaps I will...start with todays trip if I get time later to figure out how to start one... but for now, backdated trips (since my camera started working better again, phew), here we goooooooooooooooo...

Walgreens 6/5:

I messed up HORRIBLY. I let a $5 register reward EXPIRE. I almost said just put everything back, LOL. Actually, I did say that, but then I said oh what the heck. I was paying with a gift card I'd won from Coke anyway.
Anyway, I got 2 boxes of Kleenex, each were .55 on clearance. The Dawn was free after a $1 coupon and the store coupon that made it .99. The Ecotrin was $2 and I had a $2 coupon, so that was free. The Kerasal was $7.99, and I had a $1 coupon... total was like $8.50, and I got back $9 in RR (5, 2, and 2)... One box of Ecotrin, I had hubby buy so I could get another RR :o) He just got in line behind me, and that was all he bought, lol...he got the $0.00 total and got the $2 RR. Sweet :o) I was so mad at myself about that $5, since then my total would have been like 3.50 instead...but oh well.

CVS 6/5:

Paid .48 after using coupons and some ECBs (picture is blurry, but I think it says a $3.99 and a $2) and I got back 2 $4 ECBs. Not shabby.

Kmart DOUBLES 6/8:

3 boxes of Cinnamon Toast Crunch (I wanted to "Win CASH!" lol...but I did not.)
They were $2/box, I used a $1/3 coupon...so 3 boxes for $4.

I had no coupons for the Luvs, but 3.99 is a goooood deal so got them...
I had a $5 coupon for Pull ups, a $4, and two $3...so one pack for .49, another for $1.49, and two for $2.49.
I had a $1 coupon for the Easy Ups, so they were $4.49...

Total for all of them, $35.39... average it out and that makes them $3.22/pack!

Kohls - 6/12:

I had $10 Kohl's cash that was expiring (special promotion at the store near us b/c they were remodeling)

4 shirts (yes, we like pink!), all for $3.60 after the Kohl's cash.

CVS 6/12:

1 Gilette Fusion razor... $7.99, minus $4 coupon, and $3.99 ECB... total owed, nothiiiiing!  $0.00, lol. Earned $4 ECB. Also printed out a $5 off $15 coupon on my reciept...so since I needed my Revlon makeup I went back in, lol.

4 cans of Campbells soup, I had a raincheck so they were 2 for $1... also had two $1 off 2 coupons, so they were all free, lol.
2 Revlon foundations, 13.29, b1g1. I also had a $2 CVS coupon for it... I was mad I didn't have any mfg coupons, lol...but oh well.

So since the total before coupons was over $15, I could use the $5/15, then the $2 CVS Revlon coupon, then the 2 $1 soup coupons, and I used 2 ECBS...a $4 and a $2... total I paid for everything was .29!  Scoooore on the makeup, lol. Too bad they weren't producing ECBs, haha..but I can't really complain.

Walgreens 6/12:

2 Reach toothbrushes, on sale for .99, used a $1.50 off 2 Reach products coupon, made them .28 each.

Purex detergent/softener sheets... $4.99, after a $1 coupon.

M&Ms as a filler so I could use my $5 RR...not sure what I had to get them, but it wasn't accepting my RR at checkout so I just grabbed them and said try it after ringing those up and it worked... so... after using that $5 I paid $1.33, and got back $2.

I will also get back $5.99 from Purex because they have a rebate offer for those sheets!!  :o)

lol, so today Ava was eating her second lunch (yeah, lol) and she made a mess on the table. She said "Look mommy, I got my sour cream ALL OVER the table!" I asked her why she did that and she replied "Um. Because I don't like you." Stifling giggles I asked why she didn't like me and says "I do! I do like you!" All I could say was "well, good... 'cause I like you." She's funny.

The other day she was eating dinner and she had asked for an ice cream cone, I said sure if she finished her dinner. She asked for seconds and I gave them to her, but she hadn't eaten her noodles at all yet. Now, I don't really expect her to always finish her plate, but if she's hungry enough for ice cream, and she asked for seconds of one thing, and I *know* she likes what's on her plate, I do expect her to at least take a few bites, so after she kept begging for the ice cream I just said "Not until I don't see anymore noodles on your plate." And she said "okay." A few minutes later she asks for ice cream and says "There not anyyyy more noodles on my plate." I go to look and she's right...'cause she scooted them all off on to the table. @@ LOL

Hit up the Kmart doubles today. My mom watched the girls so I could just take my time and I was in there for probably two hours, lol. I took my binder in with me and just walked up and down every aisle that had stuff I might have a coupon for.

I shouldn't have waited until today because they were out of stock on a bunch of stuff, some I really wanted...bummer, but oh well.

Also, my mom printed me the $5 off $50 coupon they have, but she printed me the wrong date and I didn't realize until I was already all rung up at check out :o( My total (including tax) came to $10.25 without that $5 coupon (I forget what before coupons...$61-66, somewhere around there...so I saved $50 at least with my coupons), and my mom knows the manager there because Eddie used to work there so she kept my reciept and she is going to go in to talk to her and see if she will still give me the $5 off, lol. So, assuming that I get that, I will have paid $5.25 for everything.

Charlotte has taken to role playing using the potty...she will sit on something (most recently Ava's play laptop) and go "Ooooooh!" and get up and say "Done!" ??? lol. She sits on the actual potty at random throughout the day but she hasn't actually used it yet.

Ahhh, Ava lately...

The other day, I am in the family room, Ava is in the kitchen. I hear rustling.

Me: Ava, what are you doing?

Ava: Nothing, mommy.

::rustle, rustle::

Me: Avaaaaa, what are you doing?

Ava: I told you, nothing mommy!

Me: Ava. What are you doing?

Ava: ::sigh:: I *already* TOLD you, mommy! NOTHING!

Apparently she went from 2 to 14 and I somehow missed it. Preschooler's got attitude! lol

She took a basket of toys into the bathroom the other day and shut the door. When I asked her why she was in the bathroom she yelled out the door "I'm NOT SHARING WITH CHARLOTTE, that's why I in the bathroom."

At dinner today, we had kid songs playing. Something came on and I said "Ooh! Laurie Berkner!" and Ava said "Yes, that's Laurie Berkner. You are certainly correct mommy."

Bathtime today, she gets undressed, stands on her stepstool, back facing me and says "See my little tushie, mommy?" and starts shaking her rump.

In the bath--Charlotte wants to play with some of the ducks and Ava said "No you can't have these ducks. That's not acceptable, Charlotte." ROFL.

Just now, Mike was putting one of her baby dolls in the toybox and she shook her finger at him and said "Nonononono, I need that." lol.

She cracks me up. Earlier today... she CRIED because Mike told her she was a big girl. "NOOOOO, I NOT A BIG GIRL!" ??? lol

Charlotte is starting to "count." She says "One. Three." LOL. You can't convince her there is a TWO. She shakes her head and says "THREE," lol. She is really in to hide and seek lately... she says "One, three, table!" and goes to hide under the table, lol. Then she'll say "Ready, go!"

Birth story :o)

I went to bed Sunday night around 11 feeling a little crampy, but I've felt crampy before so I didn't think anything of it. I had been having braxton hicks all day, but didn't think anything of those either because I get them all the time and they weren't too painful or difficult to walk through. I woke up around 12:30 feeling really hot and uncomfortable and like I needed to use the bathroom. So I went and got nothing and then thought to myself "hey, this is how labor started with Ava." I wasn't sure that it was really labor, so I waited a few minutes and strained a bit (sorry for the TMI!) to see if I was just constipated. I had a tiny bit of light pink after peeing so I figured that I was in labor. I went to wake up Mike and told him I was going to take a shower because I thought we might be having the baby that night. I had started having the lower back pain contractions at that point but they weren't too terribly strong. I got in the shower and BAM, hard labor. I felt like I had to push while I was in there and I was really uncomfy so I got out as soon as I could manage it and then snapped at Mike for still being alseep when I got into our room (I had told him I might need his help getting out of the shower since the same thing happened with Ava, I got in the shower and then the hard contractions started). I started to get ready and the contractions just got stronger and stronger very quickly. I barely got a break between them so it was hard to get dressed and I didn't even bother fixing my hair or doing my makeup (and if you know me, you know that's a big deal, haha!).

I was getting shaky and started feeling like I was going to throw up so I knew we had to leave ASAP. I hadn't packed a bag or anything yet but even though I wanted to I knew there wasn't time so we left. On the way out to the car I felt a strong urge to push. I wanted to sooooo badly I almost couldn't control it, but Mike talked me through it and I was able to make it to the car. He told me to please not let her make her entrance into the world by hitting concrete, lol. He asked me to put my seat belt on and I yelled "NO NO NO," because the thought of anything touching my belly made me want to die, it was enough having a shirt on. He said "but they won't let us through the gate!" and I said "I think they'll understand!" 'cause there was no way I was getting that thing on. I couldn't even sit down all the way, sitting was too painful. We made it to the hospital (guard at the gate said "Hey, how you doing?" and was about to ask about my seatbelt, but Mike said "Uh, we've got labor here," and he just yelled "GO!" lol) and it was all I could do to breathe through the contractions, I was breathing sooo fast I felt like I was going to pass out. I hadn't been set up in the hospital system yet here since we just moved so we went to the ER, but they sent us right to L&D Triage. Got there and the nurse took her time talking on the phone while we waited (I was getting highly irritated) for her to check me in. I was obviously in hard labor but she didn't seem to notice/care or thought I was just being dramatic with my breathing. Finally she finished about 5 minutes later and took us into the room to check me, but as soon as I stood up from the wheelchair I *had* to push, I tried to hold it back but I couldn't and all the sudden there was that ring of fire. I bent over to lean on the table and the nurse was yelling at me and trying to push me down onto the table telling me she couldn't deliver my baby (um, you're not, *I* am!) and I was yelling back at her not to touch me because I couldn't move, my baby was coming out NOW. Mike said later he had his hand right there and could feel her head. I managed to get up onto the table on all fours and her head was almost out, when a midwife came running in to help. She insisted I needed to be on my back because I was going to tear towards the front if I wasn't, and they were able to help me turn over as much as I didn't want to.

As soon as I was turned over, two pushes and hello Charlotte. 2:14am on 11/5/07, all 10lbs 13oz, 21" of her! Labor was fast and furious, that's for sure. It didn't last long, but it was definitely very intense while it did. ...and now I'm afraid our next baby won't even make it to the hospital!

Recovery has been soooo much easier than it was with Ava. I was up and walking around well the same day and my tear/stitches (I ended up with a 2nd degree again) haven't bothered me as much. There's something to be said for natural labor, I think! :o) The difference between this delivery with no drugs and Ava's with an epidural is like night and day. Never again, natural all the way.

I had tested positive for group B strep at an earlier prenatal appointment, and with labor being so quick they weren't able to give me antibiotics so they were keeping a very close eye on Charlotte and took some blood cultures just to be on the safe side. She ended up having a 100.5 fever (the cutoff is 100.4) once so they acted very aggressively with treatment and whisked her off to the nursery and started antibiotics. They found her white blood cell count was a little high and were concerned with meningitis. She was doing perfectly in the nursery though and all other tests/cultures came back normal so after her antibiotics were done and the final test result for the meningitis came back negative on Thursday we were released. She's doing great. She's such a sleeper compared to Ava! Very easy going and laid back. Ava was go-go-go from the start and hasn't stopped since.

Ava loves her little sister and she's *her* baby. She wants to "hold" her all the time and it's very sweet. It's going to be an adjustment for her though, she's been very clingy and fussy with everything going on right now. I'm sure it will be better though in a few days when all the guests leave and we have less chaos and get some semblance of normalcy back.
